| my question to you all.
Why is it that people always hate tubas, or marching with the tubas, or doing a pass-through or a fill-in with the tubas? practically everybody camplains about/or is displeased with marching with us. it gets annoying really quickly.
do we suck that badly? or are we just not good enough for you? if everybody uses the technique that steve/dan/chris has taught us and follows the drill, and listens to instructions, you guys shouldnt have any fears or any proablems with marching with us. all the tuba falls and collisions last year WEREN'T MY FAULT!!!
1)john saw a bee, got frightened, and ran me over. 2) my own fall. nobody hurt but me. 3) amber marched behind me. i went back, trying to get to the dot [giant steps], and trying not to get run over by others trying to get to their dots. and i got my foot behind hers and fell cuz she didnt go back, tho it was her responsibility.
so im curious. why exactly is it that you people all do this?

| Actually, this is the best tuba section that the band has had in several years, if not since my freshman year. Personally, I think you guys (the tubas) are doing a great job on the field. (Hence me not having to follow you guys around constantly like last season) Keep up the good work guys and don't let anyone tell you differently! | |

| I'm really proud of you guys. You are all pretty young, yet you are kicking butt. I'm especially proud of David; you are a very good rehearser and have really picked up playing one of the hardest instruments to march with. Keep it up guys! Good luck this weekend! | |

| Aww poor tubas! I love you all and you are very nice people and excellent marchers. I see metal surrounding me in our circle thing in part one and its just a little scary thats all. I know you guys would never hurt me, but I fear that I will do something stupid. With that being said I will give you the classic line, " It's not you, it's me" We love you! | |

Zach, As a former Tuba player myself you have to know that people are just afraid of the beast of an insturment that you lug around on your shoulder. It seperates you from everyone else because you are clearly dominant and display mad skills. Basically, they are just jealous. If anyone has a problem with the Tubas may I suggest that you carry it around at 180 6-5 on the platform for 100 yards? Just a suggestion. Have a good day! Steve

| Well, this year, the flutes at least seem to be more frightened of the tenors. Tubas at least go over most of their heads, if they duck correctly. Tenor collision= no more ovaries . | |

| tubas are scary if you aren't paying attention to what's going on...this year the tubas are pretty good so i don't think we have to worry so much about them hitting us...and i don't think we're gonna die so just knock it off if anybody has anything against them. and tenors are much scarier this year anyway...matt's right...tenor collison=no ovaries...can't jump over a tenor as easily as you can duck under a tuba | |

| The tubas are perfectly perfect if they don't run into you but that's usually cause the non-tuba players aren't paying attention....and oh my god yes the tenors scare me.Matt has boxed me in with a snare and I've been boxed in between two bass drums with a tenor from behind pretty bad.Even though it is quiet funny. | |

| Yeah, but that was on purpose. We drummers are violent people. But Lord knows I cherish those poor fluties... if anyone needs to go forth and multiply, it's them. | |

| Ok, think of it this way. If your driving, and your surrounded on both sides by semi trucks wouldn't you be a bit worryied? I personally don't have a problem with it and I doubt anyone else here does, but you must relize you guys could probly KO someone pretty easily if you (or they) screwed up. | |

| I don't really think its the tubas or the tuba players. We are going at pretty fast speeds in the closer. Anything and everything moving that fast is kinda scary. | |

| Personally nothing against the tuba section as clearly stated but i mean it could be worse.....You could be boxed in between two bass drums with a tenor from behind. And of course people are scared it a big piece of metal coming at them. Then again it usually is the person's fault who is running into a tuba player. | |

| and the same thing can be said about the drumline (hence why there usually is no drumline with band pass through) and maybe trumble can explain why big bass drums are probably more scary then tubas lol (and he knows what im talking about) | |
